Association History

You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.

The St. Louis Alumnae Association

No matter when or where you were initiated, we invite you to become a member of the St. Louis Alumnae Association, one of Kappa's oldest associations!  Since our founding in 1903, our Association has shown a deep commitment to our Mission Statement by providing an array of social, leadership, educational, and service opportunities for our Kappa sisters in the St. Louis area. There are over 2,000 local Kappas from over 120 chapters and ranging in age from 18-101 all living in the St. Louis metro area (St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County in Missouri and Madison, St. Clair, and Monroe counties in Illinois)!  Whether you are new to the area or just want to reconnect with old friends, the St. Louis Alumnae Association is for you!

For members of the St. Louis Alumnae Association, Kappa truly is for a lifetime. We take pride in our traditions, the diversity of our membership, and our support of Kappa both locally and at the national level. We consider it a privilege to serve our local and national philanthropies. We have Night Owls and Wise Owls groups, Book Clubs, special speakers and events and, of course, our beloved Founders Day celebration where we honor our history, tradition and longevity. We work closely with two local chapters, Washington University (St. Louis) and Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, and provide support to University of Missouri and Westminster as well. All local Kappas receive monthly eNewsletters and an annual newsletter. Our Facebook group (St. Louis Kappa Kappa Gamma) and LinkedIn group (Kappa Kappa Gamma St. Louis) are perfect for keeping us all connected. 

But we can’t do all we do without the financial support of our dues-paying members. In short, we are here for you and we need you.
